These partners will be featured at home games and in community programs, while fans can already purchase season and premium memberships that include discounts, parking perks and VIP access.
   

2. Highway 74 is twice as dangerous as other roads. What's being done? (desertsun.com) — Drivers in Palm Desert face a collision rate on Highway 74 more than double similar roads, and a new county study urges tighter truck restrictions on the twisting mountain stretch starting in town. Local officials and residents are pressing Caltrans for faster action, while a state bill and stepped-up enforcement aim to improve safety but have yet to deliver concrete changes.
   

3. Woman beats husband to death with flagpole in luxury gated-community home (themirror.com) — A 65-year-old woman has been jailed on suspicion of murdering her husband inside their Palm Desert home in The Enclave, after deputies found him fatally beaten with a flagpole on September 4. The case, now handled by the Riverside County homicide unit, follows earlier domestic violence filings against the suspect and repeated delays in her court arraignment over fitness concerns.
   

4. Breast Cancer survivors celebrated at upcoming Paint El Paseo Pink event (nbcpalmsprings.com subscription) — Palm Desert's El Paseo will turn pink on October 10 as Paint El Paseo Pink returns to raise money for the Desert Cancer Foundation and local cancer patients. Residents can register individually or in teams, inspired by survivors like Veronica Miranda, whose life-saving treatment was supported by the foundation and who now fundraises and partners with local business Touch of Fairy Dust.
   

5. Red Lobster Palm Desert Employee and Other Documents Found Exposed in Alley (nbcpalmsprings.com) — Sensitive employee records, including Social Security numbers and ID copies, were found scattered behind the closed Red Lobster in Palm Desert, raising serious concerns about how personal data was handled after the restaurant shut down. Footage showed documents still exposed despite media inquiries, and former employees are being urged to reach out with questions as the company has yet to publicly respond.
