Ann Taylor To Return To Palm Desert

The national retailer is set to re-open up shop at the Gardens on El Paseo, not far from its Ann Taylor Loft store. Escada has also announced it is moving locations on El Paseo, and an LA designer is opening up shop locally.

Just a few years after closing up shop, Ann Taylor has plans to reopen on El Paseo in Palm Desert.

"I'm thrilled to see them come back to the valley," said Ruth Ann Moore, Palm Desert's economic development manager. "Their place in the market was a loss."

The space is under construction and will be located across from Ann Taylor Loft at the , Moore said.

"Palm Desert has the fortune of being in the center in the valley and having a progressive council that looks forward … to bring in projects that bring in different retailers," she said.

Down the street, James Perse, an LA designer with stores in California, New York, Florida, Texas, Canada and Japan, is bringing his men’s and women’s fashion to Palm Desert. The store will be located near .

will move to the northeast corner of El Paseo and Ocotillo in the former BCBG location this year.

Roberto Coin, an Italian jewelry designer, has opened his latest boutique at 73151 El Paseo. With stores located in Georgia, Florida, California, Italy, Moscow, China and Dubai, Roberto Coin designs can also be found in Nordstroms and Neiman Marcus.

Zenara, who designs one-of-a-kind handbags that are vintage inspired, has also opened on the northern side of El Paseo in the former R. E. Welch gallery location.
