Berlin Kicks Off Palm Desert's Free Spring Concerts
Get ready for a fantastic time in Palm Desert!
From The City of Palm Desert: Palm Desert’s free Concerts in the Park start their 2019 season with an epic blast from the past featuring a live performance by Berlin on Thursday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m.
Featuring celebrated lead singer Terri Nunn and founding members John Crawford on bass and
David Diamond on keyboards, Berlin will be playing their biggest chart toppers including “No More Words,” “The Metro,” and “Take My Breath Away.” This original lineup of the iconic 80s hit making band is recording a brand new studio album that is scheduled for release later this year. The album marks the first recorded collaboration by Nunn, Crawford and Diamond since 1984.
The Berlin concert is just one of five exciting musical acts that spring concertgoers will discover from 7:30 to 9 p.m. every Thursday in May. Hosted by the City with additional sponsorship from the Desert Recreation District, the Spring Concerts in the Park lineup is designed to please music lovers of all ages and tastes including: the Mighty Untouchables (May 9); Yachty By Nature (May 16); The Fancies (May 23); and the Beatles Tribute band Britain’s Finest (May 30). In addition to fantastic music, concertgoers will discover delectable food truck fare at each performance. Family YMCA of the Desert will once again be leading children’s games and activities before each of the five shows. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the evening. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited. Civic Center Park is located on the northeast corner of San Pablo Avenue and Fred Waring Drive. The kickoff Spring concert is just one of the many fun events featured as part of First Weekend Palm Desert, held every first weekend of the month, November through May.
