Child Dies After Found In Palm Desert Pool

PALM DESERT, CA – Emergency crews responded Monday at about 2:30 p.m. to a child found in a pool at a home on the 10 block of Merill Drive in Palm Desert, according to authorities.

The girl was discovered by a family member, the Palm Desert Police Department said. Officers and responders from the California Department of Forestry performed CPR, but the victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, the Riverside County Sheriff's and Fire departments said.

The age of the child was not disclosed.
