INDIO, CA — Chris Rock may have once called himself “severely overrated” and “one step above a hack,” but Fantasy Springs Resort Casino – and the judges who give out Emmy and Grammy Awards – disagree.

Rock, a stand-up comedian who has hosted the Academy Awards three times and won four Emmy Awards and three Grammy Awards, will perform at Indio’s Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on April 8 at 9 p.m. Tickets, which start at $79, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday. They can be purchased at the Fantasy Springs office, by phone at 800-827-2986, or online at fantasyspringsresort.com.

Rock, who was voted the world’s fifth greatest stand-up comedian in a Comedy Central poll, is a prolific and celebrated comedian who has starred in several movies, stand-up specials, and TV shows. He grew up in a mostly Black neighborhood in Brooklyn, but attended school in a nearby Italian neighborhood, which later became subject fodder for “Everybody Hates Chris,” an acclaimed CW sitcom that Rock executive produced, directed, and narrated.
