Coachella, Stagecoach 2018: 'Locals Only' Sale Announced
Tickets might be sold out to the general public, but there's a perk to living next door to the giant music festivals.

INDIO, CA — If you've been yearning to get tickets to this year's Coachella or Stagecoach music festivals — and you happen to live in the Coachella Valley — you're in luck. The festival promoters are again offering tickets to valley locals.
Goldenvoice says they've saved 1,000 passes for each of the three upcoming festival weekends: Coachella Weekend 1, April 13-15, Coachella Weekend 2, April 20-22, and Stagecoach, April 27-29. The offer is good only for those who live in the Coachella Valley, from Palm Springs to Mecca.
The company has offered the passes in years past, but there's a new process this year. Before, interested residents were asked to head out to a location in the desert to line up and buy the tickets there.

This year, residents must submit requests online and orders will be randomly selected and approved based on residency requirements, according to Goldenvoice. General Admission (GA) passes will run you $429 each for Coachella and $329 each for Stagecoach, all fees included. VIP Passes are $999 for Coachella and range from $899 to $1,199 for Stagecoach.
In order to ensure the "local neighbor" passes actually do end up in the hands -- err, on the wrists -- of those living nearby, festival staff has some strict guidelines.

"There will be a 2-pass limit per weekend per resident, while supplies last," Goldenvoice said in an email announcing the sale Monday. "Wristbands will be placed on the wrist of the resident purchaser and their guest by the box office staff – guest must be present."
When you pick up your tickets, you'll have to show your California drivers's license or ID card to again prove you live nearby.
