College of the Desert Welcomes Students for Fall

Fall semester begins at College of the Desert on August 26. The school is offering more than 1,200 class sections in a variety of subjects.

PALM DESERT, CA—The Fall semester begins at College of the Desert (COD) on August 26. COD is offering more than 1,200 class sections in a variety of subjects. New and returning students are being urged to apply and register early. Popular classes fill up fast.

Dr. Pamela Ralston, Vice President of Student Learning, “We are looking forward to the beginning of the fall semester. Our May 2016 graduating class was the largest in COD history. As the second fastest growing community college in California, we continue to expand facilities, classes and faculty to meet that demand.”

In addition to the campuses in Palm Desert, Indio and East Valley (Mecca/Thermal) COD is also offering classes at off-campus sites, Palm Springs, Cathedral City and Desert Hot Springs high schools. Be sure to check the selection of Online Classes as well as the list of Late Start Classes.

The newest site for COD classes is located in Desert Hot Springs at the Edward L. Wenzlaff Education Center, 11625 West Drive. The offerings in Desert Hot Springs include GED/high school completion, English as a Second Language, general education and career preparation.

Due to increasing demand, two new classrooms have been added to the Indio campus. “We are excited to also be offering additional student services at the Indio campus, including; counseling, financial aid, admissions and registration, and bookstore,” Dr. Annebelle Nery, Vice President of Student Success.

Students can go on line here to apply. To enroll for the fall semester, click on the green ‘Getting Started’ button. A real-time class schedule is on the web under the ‘Catalog & Schedules’ heading. Or visit COD’s Office of Admissions and Records on the main campus in the Cravens Student Services Center.
