Comedian Mike Epps Schedules Show In Coachella Valley

Epps began his stand-up career by joining the Def Comedy Jam tour in 1995. He went on to star in two HBO Def Comedy Jam specials before being cast as Day-Day Jones alongside Ice Cube in the hit comedy, “Next Friday.” He later reteamed with the actor-rapper for the films “All About the Benjamins” and “Friday After Next.” In 2003, Epps appeared in “The Fighting Temptations” with Beyoncé, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Steve Harvey.

Epps returned to his stand-up roots in 2010, releasing the special Under Rated & Never Faded, and hosting the BET Hip-Hop Awards. In 2012, he served as Super Bowl ambassador in his native Indianapolis, starring in commercials and making special appearances the week of the game.

Epps portrayed comedy legend Richard Pryor in the 2016 film “Nina,” which chronicled the life of the late jazz musician Nina Simone. Epps is expected toreprise the role in a forthcoming Pryor bio-pic directed by Lee Daniels, and co-starring Eddie Murphy, Kate Hudson and Oprah Winfrey.
