DCE was set up by the cities of Palm Springs, Cathedral City, and Palm Desert to provide residents clean energy at more competitive rates while keeping the benefits and control in our communities. The City of Palm Springs has set as a priority cutting down greenhouse gas emissions. Beginning in April 2020, Palm Springs residents and businesses will be automatically enrolled in DCE’s 100% Carbon Free plan to help reduce our carbon footprint and foster a sustainable community. No other action could have as big an impact as going carbon-free.

Customers can also choose to opt down to a less expensive choice called ‘Desert Saver’,which provides green energy at a lower rate than Southern California Edison. Or they can opt out of DCE and continue receiving their electricity from Edison.DCE is committed to equity and all customers enrolled in CARE, FERA and Medical Baseline financial assistance programs will be enrolled in DCE’s 100% Carbon Free plan but will be charged the lower cost Desert Saver rates and will have additional savings on their bill while at the same time participating in the green economy.Coming soon, look for more information about Desert Community Energy in the mail or visitwww.DesertCommunityEnergy.org.
