Desert Sands Unified Seeks Community Input On Schools

Feedback sought on priorities and goals. Survey is quick and online.

LA QUINTA, CA - The Desert Sands Unified has launched an online survey seeking feedback on school district goals and state priorities.

The stakeholder survey will help guide the district in its continuing development of its Local Control Accountability Plan. Accountability plans are required for all educational agencies under the Local Control Funding Formula, which is the new finance system enacted in the 2013-14 school year.

DSUSD public information officer Mary Perry said the district is trying to get the word out about the survey because stakeholder input -- from students, parents, staff and community members -- is critical to ensuring progress is made.

The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete. It is open online through March 25 at www.dsusd.us/content/listening-learn.

That same website also includes information about the LCAP that can be helpful in taking the survey, Perry noted. Paper surveys also are available in each school office.
