Dive-in Movies, Swim & More Planned At Palm Desert Aquatic Center

PDAC will be open Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

From PDAC: Palm Desert Aquatic Center (PDAC) is in full swing for Summer, kicking off with Memorial Day Weekend. In June, the Dive-in Movies continue, and extended hours for the summer begin for lap swimming and the recreational swim areas. In addition, summer swim lessons begin on June 18.

PDAC will be open Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for recreational areas, and extended pool hours go into effect, remaining open until 7 p.m. on weekends through the summer. Beginning June 15, all features, and recreational swim will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday through summer, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. PDAC will be open with extended hours on Wednesday, July 4, for poolside viewing of the fireworks display taking place at the neighboring Civic Center Park and put on by the City of Palm Desert. Hours to be announced at a later date.

On Friday, June 1, the Dive-in movie is Sony Picture’s “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” which starts at 7:30 p.m., with entry to PDAC at 7 p.m. Tickets can be pre-purchased at the front desk, or at the event, until sold out. Tickets are $4 per person, with no charge for children under 2. Guests are encouraged to bring towels to lie out on the grass areas and there will be snacks available for purchase at the concessions stand. Portable chairs, as well as food and beverages are not allowed to be brought in (except bottled water in plastic containers). The final Dive-in Movie will on Friday, July 6, with Disney’s animated hit, “Moana.”

Sign-ups will be accepted for summer swim lessons at the front desk beginning May 19th, or online beginning May 20th. June swim lessons will take place beginning June 18th, Monday -Thursday, and both a morning and afternoon session are being offered. Lessons are available for ages 6 months to 17 years old. The last day to sign up for each session is the Thursday before classes begin, space permitting, and registration can be done at www.pdpool.com.

Water exercise classes continue through the summer, including Shallow Water Exercise, Deep Water Exercise, Deep Water Boot Camp, a Basic Arthritis and Injury Rehab Water Exercise class, and even indoor yoga. Check www.pdpool.com for a full schedule.

The Palm Desert Aquatic Center is located at 73751 Magnesia Falls Drive in Palm Desert, behind Civic Center Park. Outside food is not allowed into the facility, but a snack bar is available.
