Earthquake Rattles Inland Empire Monday: Did You Feel It?
The temblor struck just before 6 a.m.
LA QUINTA, CA — A 3.5 magnitude earthquake centered near Palm Desert struck at 5:31 a.m. Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor's epicenter was situated 8.9 miles southeast of Alpine Village and 14 miles southwest of La Quinta, according to the agency, and was about one mile deep.
Centered a mere 16.6 miles south of Palm Desert and 17.6 miles south of Rancho Mirage, the quake was felt across the Coachella Valley, the Inland Empire and parts of Southwest Riverside County, including Anza and Warner Springs, according to initial "Did you feel it reports."
