
INDIO, CA — A magnitude 3.2 earthquake shook the Coachella Valley area of Riverside County on Thursday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reports. The temblor was reported at 9:16 a.m. local time.
The quake was centered:
- 6.2 mi NE of Indio
- 7.5 mi NNE of Coachella
- 9.9 mi N of Thermal
- 11.2 mi ENE of Indian Wells
- 23 mi E of Palm Springs
A small aftershock, measuring just 1.6-magnitude, was reported a minute later, according to U.S.G.S. data.
