Improving Your Personal Effectiveness

The Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center (CVWBC) will present a new workshop on December 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the CVWBC office at 77-806 Flora Road in Palm Desert.  The title of the workshop is, “Improving Your Personal Effectiveness”.  The cost for this workshop is $15 with online registration.  Registration for the workshop must be completed by end of business of December 12.  To register online, visit the CVWBC website at www.cvwbc.org. Facilitator Glenn Scott will introduce the concept of activity management:  that there are only activities that support our objectives and those that do not, and key to being successful is determining what these are and engaging  in only those activities.  By first identifying what percentage of total waking hours are dedicated to business activities, and then figuring the percentage of time that each activity is absorbing, Mr. Scott illustrates to participants how they must identify and prioritize their activities.

It is incumbent on each individual to establish whatever routine is necessary to support his or her objectives, and to strategize as to how to “make it happen”.  This is what the workshop is all about:  helping participants find out how to find their direction, minimize their distractions, reach their goals, and maximize their potential.

Facilitator for the series is Glenn Scott, who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table:  his résumé includes developing strategic sales, marketing, and customer service plans for employees from companies as diverse as Toyota and Honda, Miller’s Outpost, Chase Mortgage, and Alcoa Aluminum. 

The CVWBC is a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) at California State University San Bernardino in partnership with U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).  The CVWBC provides free business counseling, training, mentoring, and networking designed for entrepreneurs, with an emphasis on women in business or women who want to start a business.
