Families Receive Free Child Safety Car Seats

Sheriff’s deputies and county health officials gave away five free safety seats during a child safety seat inspection operation in Coachella, sheriff’s officials announced Thursday.

The inspection station was set up from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Templo La Hermosa Church, near the intersection of Polk Street and 50th Avenue, sheriff’s Sgt. Tim White said.

Deputies and officials from the Riverside County Department of Public Health assisted 10 families, performed six inspections and set up appointments for two more inspections, White said.
