Firefighters Stop La Quinta Blaze from Spreading to Home, Propane Tank

A vehicle fire Sunday night threatened a La Quinta home and propane tank but Riverside County firefighters contained it to the vehicle, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 9:12 p.m. in the 53600 block of Avenida Cortez, the Riverside County Fire Department’s Jennifer Fuhrman said.

No injuries were reported, Fuhrman said.

Firefighters put out the flames in about 40 minutes and remained on the scene to make sure there were no hot spots in the residence or near the propane tank.
