PALM DESERT, CA - From Riverside County Fair: The 2018 Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival came to a close on Sunday, February 25 with crowd favorites, Super Fiesta and Demolition Derby.The 2018 Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival had popular headliner acts which included WAR, Chase Rise, Los Rieleros del Norte, Lou Gramm, Foghat and to close the Fair, Super Fiesta.Daily entertainment at the Fair is anticipated by the fairgoers every year such as the Camel & Ostrich Races, Monster Trucks and Nightly Musical Pageant.
Some brand new shows - Scott Land's Marionettes, Scott's Magic Show and the Rain Forest exhibit were big hits at the Fair. The date inspired treats, from date shakes to bacon wrapped dates, there were plenty of opportunities to indulge!Riverside County Department of Animal Services were at the Fair daily for the fifth year with 139 dogs being adopted into forever homes this year!
There were a record number of scholarships given away by the Friends of the Date Festival at over $50,350. The Saturday, February 25th, Jr. Livestock Auction raised a record amount of $278,718.98.The 2018 Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival was presented by Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, the desert's leader in gaming and entertainment.
