Giant, Inflatable Colon On Display At Cancer Awareness Day
Eisenhower's 16th Annual Community Cancer Awareness Day will take place on March 30.

From Eisenhower Health: Eisenhower’s 16th Annual Community Cancer Awareness Day will take place at Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center on Saturday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to noon. Continental breakfast, interactive exhibits, education and information on colorectal cancer prevention, detection and treatment options will be available. The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. To make a reservation, call 760-834-3798 by March 28.
An interactive exhibit featuring a giant inflatable colon will educate visitors on colorectal cancer prevention and early detection. Staff will guide visitors through the inflatable colon, providing images and explanations of healthy colon tissue, colorectal polyps, and the various stages of colon cancer.
Focus on Colon Cancer: Risk Factors, Prevention and the Latest Treatment Options will be presented from 10 a.m. to noon in the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Auditorium featuring:

Additionally, a complimentary continental breakfast and exhibits will be held in the Healing Gardens at the Cancer Center.
According to the Colon Cancer Alliance, colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States and incidence rates in adults younger than 50 years have been increasing.
