GoFundMe Account Created for Infant Killed, Woman Hospitalized in Palm Desert Crash

As of Thursday afternoon, more than $15,000 had been raised.

PALM DESERT, CA - A GoFundMe account has been created to raise funds for the funeral of a 5-month-old girl and help cover medical costs for her 22- year-old mother, who survived a Palm Desert crash that killed her infant daughter.

As of 4 p.m. Thursday, the fund had taken in more than $15,000 to cover memorial service costs for Armani Green and medical costs for Kristen Lauer, who were passengers in a sports car that crashed just after 8 a.m. Sunday on state Route 74.

The 2015 Porsche sport coupe driven by 51-year-old Marcus Green struck a metal guardrail and crashed down an embankment about 200 feet off the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The baby, who was on her mother's lap, was ejected from the car and died at the scene. Both Green and Lauer suffered major injuries and remain hospitalized at Desert Regional Medical Center.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information was asked to contact the Indio CHP station at (760) 772-8911.

The GoFundMe account was created by Lauer's mother, Kim Spates, who is hoping to raise $100,000. Donations can be made at through the site here.
