Hiker Airlifted From Bump And Grind Trail In Palm Desert
Rescue crews arrived Sunday to retrieve the injured person from northwest of the Bump and Grind trail entrance.
PALM DESERT, CA — A hiker was recovering Monday from moderate injuries after being rescued from a trail in Palm Desert.
Rescue crews from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department responded to a report of an inaccessible rescue involving one person at around 10:15 a.m. Sunday, northwest of the Bump and Grind trail entrance, near the end of Fred Waring Drive and CA-111.
Upon making contact, a sheriff's department Rescue9 helicopter hoisted the hiker to the designated landing zone, where a ground ambulance was waiting to take the victim to a hospital.
