Gildardo Davila is purported gang member and considered armed and dangerous. Area residents told to lock windows, doors and stay inside.

COACHELLA VALLEY, – Authorities searched today for a 27-year-old gunman who wounded a sheriff's deputy belonging to the Coachella Police Department.
The deputy attempted Thursday at about 7:45 p.m. to stop a vehicle in the Coachella area of Harrison and First streets but the driver did not comply and threw a handgun from the vehicle, said sheriff's Deputy Armando Munoz.
Shortly thereafter, the deputy located the vehicle in the area of Calle Mendoza and Las Flores Avenue, where the driver exited the vehicle and fled through a residential neighborhood. The deputy chased after the suspect, who shot and wounded him with a second handgun, authorities said.
