Indio Searching For Performers, Promoters For Outdoor Series

The city seeks entertainers, promoters, and food vendors for monthly events at a new venue in downtown Indio.

INDIO, CA — The city of Indio is looking for vendors and promoters for a monthly event series to enrich the downtown area, according to a news release.

The city hopes to have monthly events at a new venue downtown, located at Miles Avenue and Smurr Street, the second Saturday of the month beginning in early 2022. The city is designing this venue, tentatively called the "Outdoor Living Room."

"Experienced event producers, vendors and promoters are encouraged to submit qualifications to participate and coordinate a mix of high-caliber local, entertainment, food, music and dance events to enrich Indio and the downtown experience," the city said. "These events will be free for residents and visitors, and may include food/food trucks, retail, art, and a ‘walk-about’ space for music and drinks."

The city is releasing a request for qualifications (RFQ) for food vendors, musicians, and other entertainers; contracts will be awarded in the future for performances. Proposals "should clearly detail requested services and/ or contributions from the City, the proposer’s contributions, and estimated contributions from sponsorship."
