Indio Tamarisk Fire Expected To Burn For Several Days

Officials advised the public that drift smoke will be visible over the next few days.

INDIO, CA — Firefighters Tuesday were on the scene of an approximately 300-square-foot tamarisk tree fire in Indio that is expected to burn for the next couple of days.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department received a report of a vegetation fire at 6:12 p.m. Monday in the area of Avenue 42 and Clinton Street.

Fire crews arrived on the scene to find multiple tamarisk trees fully enveloped in flames.
