Injured Hiker Rescued From East Indio Badlands Trail

INDIO, CA — A hiker suffered moderate injuries on a trail in Indio Sunday, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The injury was reported at 10:47 a.m. Sunday on East Indio Badlands Trail, fire officials said.

Firefighters made their way to the remote location in a department UTV and then assessed the patient's injuries. They then transported the person to a hospital by ground ambulance.

The patient suffered moderate injuries, they said. No other information was available.
