Joshua Tree Residents Say Bobcat Trappers Crossing Into Park

Residents in the nearby national park of Joshua Tree say bobcats they know so well they've named them, are dissapearing.

According to a recent Los Angeles Times article, critics of animal trappers in the area allege they're trespassing on private property, and park boundary lines.

Hunting and trapping bobcats is legal during hunting season outside of the national park boundaries. But to the locals, that makes little difference. "The very idea of trapping in a place where bobcats are so well-known they have nicknames — Big Gray, Leroy, Tomboy — is disturbing and heartbreaking," Kreuter said.
