Kid Friendly Events Start At Westfield Palm Desert
The Palm Desert Library and the Westfield Palm Desert mall team up to put on summer programming.

The Palm Desert Library's summer programming will move over to starting this week.
A $3.5 million renovation of the library -- the second-most popular in Riverside County -- is expected to begin as early as July.
The events -- put on by the mall on Mondays and Fridays, and the library Tuesday through Thursday -- kick off today with a free screening of "Angels in the Outfield" at 10 a.m.

Here is the weekly schedule:
- Mondays at 10 a.m.: Movies
- Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.: Story time
- Tuesdays at 2 p.m.: Teen SRP
- Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.: Youth shows
- Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.: Story time
- Fridays at 6 p.m.: Summer concerts
All the events will be held at the mall's new event center.
