The new law will provide coverage for an estimated 170,000 undocumented California children.

COACHELLA, CA - Two state lawmakers will be in Coachella Saturday to talk to families about the expansion of Medi-Cal coverage to the state's low- income undocumented children.
The coverage will be available starting Monday as part of the 'Health for All Kids' law, which extends Medi-Cal eligibility to individuals under 19 years of age, even if they lack satisfactory immigration status, according to Sen. Ricardo Lara, D-Bell Gardens.

"Families should visit www.health4allkids.org to find out where to enroll and get any questions they might have answered," Lara said. "This milestone recognizes our state's commitment to healthy communities and is a major victory in our push towards achieving true health for all."
Families will be able to enroll for full-scope Medi-Cal in person at a local county human services office, over the phone, online, via a mail-in application or at a local health center.
Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia, D-Coachella, will also take part in the 11:30 a.m. event tomorrow at Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo.
