LINEA Palm Springs Event Raises $130K for Desert AIDS Project

Alta Verde Group CEO Andrew Adler honored his late brother with a special donation during the event at the LINEA Palm Springs development.

From Cord Media: Alta Verde Group (AVG), Palm Springs’ premier builder of modern, architecturally significant homes, recently hosted a fundraising event at its new LINEA Palm Springs development that raised over $130,000 for Desert Aids Project (DAP). The Season Opening event, which attracted more than 400 DAP supporters, culminated with a $50,000 donation by Alta Verde Group CEO Andrew Adler, who lost his brother to AIDS related complications in 2008.

“This donation is inspired by my late brother, Robert, who was diagnosed with AIDS in the early 1980s and lived with the disease for more than two decades,” said Adler. “Robert introduced me to a world of art and design during his years in New York, and inspired me to pursue developing projects of architectural merit.”

Mr. Adler and Alta Verde Group have earned the industry’s most prestigious architecture and design honors, including the Gold Nugget Award for Best Home Design and NAHB (National Association of Homebuilders) Builder of the Year. Their latest project, Linea Palm Springs, is an artistic composition of 14 modern ultra luxury residences defined by innovative architectural features such as minimal lines, glass walls and measured proportions.

“LINEA was inspired by Robert’s and my shared love of the early cubic minimalist works of Richard Meier and Le Corbusier, which Robert and I said we’d accomplish together ‘someday in the future,’ as he had inscribed in a 40-year-old Meier book shown at the event,” said Adler.

“It took almost 30 years to have the right location, project and team to deliver on this shared vision. I deem each of the 14 homes at Linea to be significant and luxurious works of residential sculpture, and I hope they represent the spirit, education and elevation Robert brought me. It’s especially gratifying to have hosted an event that honors my brother’s memory and raises funds for Desert AIDS Project. The incredible DAP staff embody the courage and beauty possible in humanity.”
