Magnitude 4.9 Earthquake Shakes Coachella Valley, SW RivCo
A series of earthquakes centered near Anza began shaking the region shortly before 7 p.m.
ANZA, CA — A series of earthquakes shook the Coachella Valley and Southwest Riverside County Friday night.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the first temblor — a magnitude 4.9 —struck at 6:53 p.m., just southeast of Anza.
Several quakes followed in the area, the biggest registered a magnitude 3.7 at 7:05 p.m.

The temblors sent shaking into Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Bernardino counties, the USGS reported.
There are no immediate reports of damage or injury.
