Man Found Dead In Dirt Lot Deemed Suicide

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA – A man whose body was found this morning in a Cathedral City dirt lot was determined to be a suicide case in a lot near the Oasis RV Park, according to the Cathedral City Police Department.

Officers were dispatched at 6:24 a.m. for a man on the ground east of the intersection of Date Palm and Gerald Ford drives, in a lot near the Oasis RV Park, according to Cathedral City Police Cmdr. Paul Herrera.

Police say the deceased was a 60-year-old Idaho man, whose death generated a police presence in the area Wednesday morning.

Herrera said there are no road closures or detours as a result of the death investigation, which is being completed by the Riverside County Coroner's Office.
