Man Hospitalized After Shooting In Desert Hot Springs

Roads closed during the investigation are now reopened, officials said.

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA — A man found shot Wednesday morning in Desert Hot Springs was taken to a hospital, and roads closed during the investigation were since reopened, according to authorities.

After reports of "shots fire," police responded at 9 a.m. to the area of Acoma Avenue and Cactus Drive and located the male suffering from a gunshot wound, the Desert Hot Springs Police Department said.

The victim was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, officers said.

Roads closed during the case were Pierson Boulevard to Cahuilla Avenue and Palm Drive to West Drive, the department said.

The shooting remains under investigation. No additional details were released.
