New Starbucks Opens at PSP Airport

The city of Palm Springs say the new location is the result of record passenger traffic.

The following is a news release from the city of Palm Springs:

Visitors coming in and out of Palm Springs International Airport can now get a cup of joe at a new Starbucks location in the front lobby.

The new location is the result of record passenger traffic and the growing success of the Airport’s concession program thanks to the introduction five years ago of La Brea Bakery, Zia Smoothies, CNBC News, a seasonal wine bar and another Starbucks in the ticketed concourse area, which have all been hugely successful.

The additional Starbucks is a bonus for non-ticketed passengers and is already extremely popular. In fact, officials at PSP estimate as many as 200,000 meeters and greeters without boarding passes visit the Airport annually. The new concept is designed to complement that group.

“Coupled with all the new facility expansions and renovations that have taken place over the past several years, it is no wonder traveler surveys have ranked Palm Springs International Airport as one of the most stress free airports in the nation,” said Mayor Steve Pougnet. “We are pleased we can now offer those people without boarding passes a good cup of java while they are waiting and I want to thank my colleagues on the City Council for their continued investment in Palm Springs International Airport.
