New Valley Outdoor Venue, Event Space Breaks Ground
Multi-Use Coachella Crossroads Site Located Adjacent to Spotlight 29 Casino

PALM DESERT, CA - From Spotlight 29 Casino: The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians broke ground today on Coachella Crossroads, an outdoor venue and event space located on a site adjacent to Spotlight 29 Casino. The facility will encompass more than 30 acres of open fields to be used for a wide variety of activities, from music festival campgrounds to sports events to open-air concerts.
Phase 1 of the construction, a recreational area called Village 29, will open this April in order to coincide with the nearby Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals. The entireCoachella Crossroads project is expected to be completed by Summer 2018.
Today’s event was attended by tribal council members, community partners, business leaders and elected officials, including former Tribal Chairman Dean Mike; Indio City Councilman Glenn Miller; Coachella Mayor Steve Hernandez; Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce (GCVCC) CEO Josh Bonner; and representatives of California State Senator Jeff Stone, and Riverside County Supervisor Manuel Perez.

The celebration commenced with introductory remarks from Ezekiel Bonillas, Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians Director of Economic Development, followed by an address from current Tribal Chairman Darrell Mike. Guests were treated to complimentary light refreshments.
“Our Tribe has put much effort into developing a vision for our future generations while balancing the needs of our environment and surrounding communities,” said Mike. “We are excited about Coachella Crossroads, our newest outdoor entertainment and recreational venture. Both our Tribe and dedicated team members look forward to welcoming visitors from near and far.”
