Palm Desert Celebrates May as National Building Safety Month

The Palm Desert City Council will officially declare May 2018 as "Building Safety Month" at its May 10 meeting.

From The City of Palm Desert: The City of Palm Desert is recognizing the importance of Building Safety throughout May as it celebrates National Building Safety Month 2018.

First observed in 1980, the annual event raises awareness about critical safety issues including: fire prevention; structural issues; plumbing and mechanical systems; and energy efficiency. The Palm Desert City Council will officially declare May 2018 as “Building Safety Month” at its May 10 meeting. Building codes, and the officials who enforce them, make our families and communities safer and more resilient. Homes and buildings that are built in compliance with building safety codes result in resilient structures that minimize the risk of injury, death, or property damage.
