Palm Desert Groups Invited To Perform At Carnegie Hall

Two singing groups from have been invited to perform at the Festival at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Chamber Singers and the Women’s Ensemble were included in the invitation, according to Laura Mann, a spokeswoman for Heritage Festivals.

Under the direction of Craig Gahnz, the groups were awarded with Gold ratings.

The Chamber Singers were awarded for a performance during the San Francisco Heritage Festival ,and the Women’s Ensemble for their performance during the Anaheim Heritage Festival, according to Mann.

They will perform in New York in 2011 or 2012, but an exact date was not immediately released.

Thousands of students vied for the opportunity, which showcases the best music ensembles in the country, she said.
