Palm Desert Opens Second Pokéhana Restaurant

PALM DESERT, CA — Pokéhana is now open in Palm Desert, with an official Grand Opening celebration scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, February 7. The public is invited to attend and the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce will conduct a celebratory ribbon cutting to take place at 4:30 p.m. Complimentary samples of the fresh sushi grade fish with unique toppings and Asian inspired sauces will be offered to guests during this time.

Developed by Jay Lee and her son, Daniel, of the long-established desert favorite, Okura Robata Grill & Sushi Bar in the Happy Point shopping center in La Quinta, they envisioned a more spontaneous option for enjoying poké in a “fast causal” atmosphere as a healthy alternative.

“Our hand-crafted poké bowls are a quick, convenient way to enjoy fresh, healthy food to fit busy lifestyles,” said Owner Daniel Lee. “By infusing Hawaiian poké with the Okura touch we bring a distinct twist to the cuisine for a simpler yet exceptional dining experience.”

Pokéhana uses the process of melding existing Hawaiian taste for raw fish with a Japanese Asian influence, resulting in a new synthesis of poké. The bowls are customized by the customer combining the finest quality fish, delicious house-made sauces, and crisp, hand-cut vegetables. Fresh fish is expeditiously delivered from the coastal California regions to the locations in the desert daily. There are also no bottled sauces or re-labeled ingredients used in the dishes.
