Palm Desert Woman Posed As Realtor To Burgle NorCal Homes: Police

PALM DESERT, CA — A Palm Desert woman, who was being sought by police across the state after she allegedly posed as a real estate agent in an effort to break into homes listed for sale near Lake Tahoe, was arrested locally, authorities announced.

Lindsay Sowell, 32, was wanted in connection to three recent residential burglaries in the town of Truckee, located on the north side of the lake in Nevada County, California, according to the Truckee Police Department.

Riverside County jail records showed Sowell was arrested around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday at El Paseo and Highway 74 in Palm Desert.

Deputies out of the Palm Desert Sheriff's Station made the arrest, according to Riverside County jail records.

Sowell was booked on suspicion of three counts of second-degree burglary. She was being held at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio in lieu of $60,000 bail. She is expected to be transported to Northern California to face charges.
