Palm Desert's Free Spring Concerts Continue With 'The Fancies'

With a repertoire of Americana, bluegrass and country songs, The Fancies is a band that is sure to get audience members up on their feet.

From The City of Palm Desert: Palm Desert’s free Spring Concerts in the Park continue on Thursday, May 23, with a live performance by The Fancies at 7:30 p.m.

With a repertoire of Americana, bluegrass and country songs, The Fancies is a band that is sure to get audience members up on their feet and moving. In concert, the Fancies combine original material with fun and infectious covers of songs by artists such as The Black Keys, The Avett Brothers, Bob Dylan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Hank Williams.

The Fancies is just one of the musical acts that spring concertgoers will discover from 7:30 to 9 p.m. every Thursday in May. Hosted by the City with additional sponsorship from the Desert Recreation District, the Spring Concerts in the Park lineup is designed to please music lovers of all ages and tastes. The series concludes May 30 with a live performance by Beatles Tribute band Britain’s Finest. In addition to fantastic music, concertgoers will discover delectable food truck fare at each performance.

Family YMCA of the Desert will once again be leading children’s games and activities before each show. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the evening. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited. Civic Center Park is located on the northeast corner of San Pablo Avenue and Fred Waring Drive.
