Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Closing for Annual Maintenance

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will close for annual maintenance next week, officials said this week.

The tram will close Sept. 8 and is tentatively scheduled to reopen Sept. 20, spokesman Greg Purdy said.

Workers will exchange a tram car’s carriage, test loads and emergency systems, and clean, refurbish and paint the tram’s two stations, he said.

“These projects are always scheduled during our shutdown period to prevent any disruption to our guests’ overall tram experience.” said tram general manager Rob Parkins.
