Palm Springs Woman Killed, Three Others Injured in Cathedral City Crash
Police said excessive speed may have been a factor in the crash, but the cause was still under investigation Thursday.
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA - A Palm Springs woman was killed and three others were injured when her car was rear-ended by another vehicle in Cathedral City, police said Thursday.
Caryn Clemente, 50, of Palm Springs, was driving down the 67790 block of East Palm Canyon Drive, near Canyon Plaza Drive, at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, when her Toyota Camry was struck from behind by a BMW, said Lt. Glen Haas.
Clemente was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:38 p.m., according to a county coroner’s report.

The Camry’s front passenger was taken to Desert Hospital with serious injuries, while the BMW’s driver and front passenger were taken to Desert Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

The results of the investigation will be reviewed by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.
