Parents Outside Boundary For Palm Desert Charter Invited To Apply

A lottery will decide attendance, according to a school official.

Parents with students living outside the boundary for have until May 6 to submit an application for their child for the upcoming 2011-12 school year.

Applications can be found at the PDCMS’ website or can be picked up in the school’s office at 74200 Rutledge Way, according to  school secretary Linda Stoddart.

A lottery to determine who will attend is set between May 19-24 and parents will be notified once the draw is complete, Stoddart said.

PDCMS, which is home to 1,260 students, converted to a charter school in 2008.

Applications to be placed on the waiting list for for students that live outside the boundary are due by May 20.

The application for the waiting list can be found on the district's website.

In order to be placed on the list, parents must submit an application by dropping off the packet at the school, 45768 Portola Avenue, or send a fax to (760) 862-4356.
