The measure wouldn't block needed work, but would push SCE to schedule outages in cooler periods, improve coordination with the city, and give customers more notice so they can prepare.
   

2. Palm Desert Woman Accused of Killing Husband Faces Murder Charge (nbcpalmsprings.com) — Palm Desert residents are learning more about a 65-year-old local woman now charged with murder in her husband's death at the Enclave Condominiums, following what prosecutors describe as a history of alleged domestic violence. The District Attorney's Office says earlier felony domestic violence charges were reduced to misdemeanors, and it is now asking the court to deny probation as the new case moves forward.
   

3. Palm Desert moves ahead with plans to study recreation of historic William F. Cody entry sign – The Palm Desert Post (thepalmdesertpost.com) — Palm Desert is moving ahead with design work to potentially recreate its historic William F. Cody entry sign, using up to $30,000 in grant funding from the Palm Springs Preservation Foundation. The city will hire a consultant to study the original design, evaluate new locations, and estimate costs, with any actual reconstruction and city funding decisions pushed to a future council vote and budget cycle.
   

4. Palm Springs Desert Winds Kicks Off 25th Anniversary Season at McCallum Theatre - (pstribune.com) — Palm Desert arts lovers can look forward to Palm Springs Desert Winds opening its 25th anniversary season at McCallum Theatre on November 22 with a large symphonic and jazz program featuring Broadway's Adam Jacobs. The season includes additional concerts at McCallum and St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Palm Desert, plus events in Palm Springs, all celebrating music, community, and LGBTQ+ equality.
   

5. Xavier Prep defeats Palm Desert in four-set Cook Street Clash (kesq.com) — Palm Desert volleyball fans saw the Aztecs push Xavier Prep to four tight sets in Thursday's Cook Street Clash at home, but ultimately fall 3–1. The match featured standout performances from both sides and keeps Xavier Prep undefeated in league play, setting up an intriguing rest of the season for local high school sports followers.
