Palm Desert destroys Burroughs in semifinals; advances to CIF Championship match next week.

For senior doubles player Blake Eggleston, it’s becoming a near perfect way to end his high school career.
“The only thing we’ve wanted was to win CIF,” Eggleston said, “since that last [Palm Desert] team that won was in 1995.”

Abe Hewko was moved to #2 singles this week, and he responded by picking up all three points in his matches. Aidan Korros, who also dropped to #3 for Palm Desert, won two of his three matches.
Aztec doubles teams were near perfect, taking 8 of their 9 total sets.
Hewko and the doubles teams of Nick Cummins/Jack Felich and Eggleston/Chris Bastardi have a potentially busy weekend before the CIF finals. They’re all off to play in the CIF individual Championships this Friday and Saturday.
