Pedestrian Killed In Palm Springs Hit-And-Run Crash

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Palm Springs on Sunday.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — A pedestrian was killed in Palm Springs Sunday in what authorities called an apparent hit-and-run crash.

Officers responded to the area of 1011 E. Vista Chino around 3:30 a.m. Sunday to a report of a person lying in the roadway, according to the Palm Springs Police Department. Upon arrival, the officers found an unresponsive adult in the eastbound lanes of traffic who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

Paramedics responded to the scene and the pedestrian was pronounced dead around 3:40 a.m. The person's identity was not immediately known.

East Vista Chino between North Hermosa Drive and North Avenida Caballeros was temporarily closed for the investigation, but was re-opened around 7:40 a.m.

No suspect vehicle information was immediately available.
