PALM DESERT, CA — The Palm Desert Cultural Arts Committee has selected two final artistic renderings for sculptures to grace the San Pablo Avenue Roundabout. The space, at the east entrance of the College of the Desert, is adjacent to the Civic Center, the dog park, the YMCA, and the Community Center. The artwork selected for this high-profile site is not being taken lightly, according to the city.

"The city is inviting residents to vote for the next public art sculpture," a city spokesperson said in a recent announcement, promising that the new installation will become "a vibrant focal point in one of the city’s most dynamic corridors."

The suggested artworks are "designed on a more intimate scale than El Paseo, and offer expanded opportunities for mixed-use development."

The Cultural Arts Committee has said this area is the emerging city center of Palm Desert, a place where culture, connection and community all come together. The selected sculpture, they hope, will reflect that ideal.

"The Cultural Arts Committee has narrowed the selection to two standout finalists. Now we are looking to our community to select your favorite option. Vote today on what sculpture you would like to see added to San Pablo! Residents are encouraged to review the two proposed sculptures and cast their vote for the piece they believe best represents Palm Desert’s spirit and future.
