Public Invited To Join Street Artist In Desert X Parallel Project
Come work with internationally acclaimed street artist OLEK to create one of her powerful and attention-grabbing art installations!
PALM DESERT, CA - From City of Palm Desert: Beginning this weekend, art lovers, family members, and friends are invited to “Take Part in Art” and work with internationally acclaimed street artist OLEK to create one of her powerful and attention grabbing art installations.
The opportunities for public participation in what will be a large, crocheted mural begin with
appearances by the artist OLEK at crochet workshops at Create Center of the Arts on Saturday, February 23, at 6 p.m., and on Sunday, February 24, at 3 p.m.
No experience is necessary. Volunteers will be given a section of the mural to crochet and
taught the skills needed to work on the project. Subsequent crochet circles will be held on
select dates scheduled between the workshops and the mural’s scheduled installation at
Palm Desert City Hall on Saturday, April 6.
