Raiders Legend Tom Flores Coming to Palm Desert
Super Bowl winning coach is scheduled to speak to desert crowds on April 12.

Four Time Super Bowl winner Tom Flores will speak at on April 12.
The first Latino head coach in the NFL, Flores coached the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders to a pair of Super Bowl titles in the 1980s. Flores also won titles as a back-up quarterback in Kansas City and as an assistant coach with the Raiders.
He is one of only three people in NFL history to win rings as a player, assistant coach and head coach (joining Mike Ditka and Tony Dungy). Flores was also the first quarterback of the Raiders in 1960, as a charter member of the American Football League.

He was one of only twenty players who were with the AFL for its entire ten-year existence. He is the fifth-leading passer, all-time, in the AFL.
Best known from his time with the Raiders, Flores is also the author of two books. His biography, “Fire in the Ice Man,” was released in 1992. In 2002, he co-authored “Tales of the Oakland Raiders.”

Currently, Flores is part of the Raiders radio broadcast team.
Flores will speak in the CSUSB Palm Desert campus’ Indian Wells Theater beginning at 7 p.m.
