Rancho Mirage Private High School Named Among Best in State

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA – It's no secret that Southern California is home to many of the state's top schools. Public area high schools are often named among the top, but what about the private schools?

Niche.com has come out with its 2017 rankings of the top 100 private high schools in America, as well as the top 100 private high schools in California. Twenty-three California schools made the list of the 100 best private high schools in the United States (see full list here).

Here in the Coachella Valley, though, just one area school landed within the state's top 100 private high schools. Palm Valley School, in Rancho Mirage, was ranked number 97 in the state. Nationally, the school was ranked number 672 of 3,231.

"Palm Valley School is an exceptional learning community that educates, nurtures, and challenges each student to achieve excellence and contribute to our Global Society," the school says on Niche.com. "We value individualized attention to students, innovative teaching, diversity, trust and respect, and are committed to the academic success of all students."

• #107 of 333 in California: 2017 Private High School College Readiness in California
• #107 of 238 in California: 2017 Most Diverse Private High Schools in California

The rankings are "based on rigorous analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and ratings collected from millions of Niche users," according to Niche.com. (Still skeptical? You can pick apart the site's full methodology here.)
