Riverside County Fair Opens in Indio
Over 300,000 expected to attend during the 2012 county fair's 9-day schedule.
The 66th annual riverside County Fair and National Date Festival opened this morning, the first day of a nine-day schedule.
Fair admission is free until 3:00 p.m. today.
Entertainment headliners include country music star LeAnn Rimes on Satruday, the band Hot Chelle Rae on the 24th, and Uncle Kracker on the 25th.

The President’s Day Grand Parade is scheduled for Monday on the streets of Indio. Actor and local favorite William Devane serves at this year’s Grand Marshal. Local boxer Timothy Bradley was schedule to be the Grand Marshal, but stepped down due to commitments related to his upcoming fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Monday, February 20: Battle of the Bands, featuring bands from the Coachella Valley, Riverside and Southern California.
Thursday, February 23: Canada Day, where admission is free for Canadians with proof of residency.
Sunday, February 26: Final Day of the Fair.
