Fire officials airlifted the man from the famed rock.

IDYLLWILD, CA - A man stranded while rock climbing was rescued over the weekend by helicopter near Idyllwild, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to a report of a climber in distress about 11 a.m. Sunday at Tahquitz Peak, a popular rock climbing area in the San Jacinto Mountains.
At about 2:35 p.m., a Cal Fire helicopter came to the aid of the man -- who reportedly did not suffer any injuries -- and brought him to an ambulance, but he refused to be taken to the hospital, fire officials said.
